The Gould A3T100 is a Class T, 100A 600V fast-acting fuse with a 200kA interrupting rating. Class T fuses require a Class T fuse holder or fusible disconnect rated for 600V and at least 100A — look for holders specifically labelled for Class T (e.g., Ferraz Shawmut/Mersen, Bussmann, or Littelfuse Class T blocks). This fuse cannot be interchanged with Class J, Class RK1/RK5, or other class holders due to its distinct rejection feature and compact dimensions.
- Direct cross-references: Bussmann JJN-100 / JJS-100 (Class T equivalents), Mersen A3T100, Littelfuse KLDR 100 — verify class and voltage rating before substituting.
- Application: Suitable for industrial panelboards, motor branch circuits, transformer primaries, and semiconductor protection where fast-acting, high-interrupting-capacity overcurrent protection is required.
Not sure if this fuse suits your holder or disconnect? Send us your equipment model and we'll confirm compatibility.
The A3T100 requires a Class T–rated fuse holder or fusible disconnect designed for 600V and 100A or greater. Class T fuses have a rejection feature that prevents them from being installed in non-Class-T holders, so you must use a holder specifically rated for Class T. Brands such as Mersen, Bussmann, and Littelfuse all manufacture suitable Class T fuse blocks. Contact us with your disconnect or holder model and we can confirm the right fit.
The Gould A3T (now carried under the Mersen/Ferraz Shawmut brand following acquisition) line may be available as new old stock or through our network of obsolete and hard-to-find electrical supply specialists. Northern Breaker Group specialises in sourcing exactly these kinds of hard-to-find fuses for industrial customers across Canada. Reach out to our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counters for current availability.
The 200kA interrupting rating means this fuse can safely clear fault currents up to 200,000 amperes without rupturing or causing additional damage — one of the highest ratings available for a fuse of this class. This is especially critical in industrial facilities fed from large transformers or utility services where available fault current can be very high. Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requires that overcurrent protective devices be rated for the available fault current at the point of installation. If your system's available fault current has not been calculated, consult a licensed electrician or engineer before selecting a replacement.
