The A4J100 is a Class J fuse. Class J fuses have a rejection-style blade that only fits Class J-rated fuse holders and blocks — they physically cannot be installed in Class H or Class K holders. This design prevents accidental substitution with lower-rated fuses. Always confirm your fuse block is rated Class J before ordering.
The A4J100 is a fast-acting (non-time-delay) Class J fuse, which makes it best suited for feeder circuits, transformer primary protection, and resistive loads up to 100A at 600V. For motor branch-circuit protection, a time-delay Class J fuse is generally preferred to ride through motor inrush current without nuisance blowing.
