ATQR20 – GOULD 20A 600V CLASS CC TIME DELAY FUSE

The ATQR series is a time-delay (dual-element) Class CC fuse, meaning it tolerates brief motor inrush or transformer magnetising currents without nuisance blowing, while still providing fast, reliable protection against sustained overcurrents and short circuits. A standard fast-acting Class CC fuse, by contrast, has no intentional time delay and will open more quickly on any overcurrent — making the ATQR the preferred choice for motor and transformer branch-circuit protection.

Gould's fuse lines have been absorbed into Ferraz Shawmut and subsequently Mersen over the years. While the ATQR20 designation may no longer be actively manufactured under the Gould name, Northern Breaker Group specialises in obsolete and hard-to-find electrical components. Class CC fuses such as the ATQR20 are rated for industrial and commercial applications and require a dedicated Class CC fuse holder — they are not interchangeable with the plug fuses or cartridge fuses found in residential loadcentres. The 600V voltage rating is a maximum rating, so the fuse is fully suitable for use on lower-voltage circuits (120V, 208V, 240V, 480V), but it must always be installed in a compatible Class CC holder and the circuit must be properly protected to the 20A rating.
