The time-delay (TD) characteristic allows the ATQR25 to ride through brief, harmless inrush currents — such as motor start-up surges or transformer energizing — without nuisance blowing. It will still respond quickly to sustained overloads and short circuits, providing reliable protection without interrupting normal operation.
Physically, a fast-acting Class CC fuse will fit the same Class CC rejection holder, but it is not a like-for-like replacement. Fast-acting fuses cannot tolerate the same inrush currents and may blow on normal motor or transformer startup. Always replace a time-delay fuse with another time-delay type of the same voltage and amperage rating unless an engineer has reviewed the circuit.
