The BA30HC-A/Z3 steps down a 480 V Delta primary to a 240 V Delta secondary with a centre tap, yielding 120/240 V single-phase output. This makes it suitable for powering 240 V industrial equipment (motors, machinery) as well as 120 V lighting and receptacle branch circuits — all from a single 30 kVA transformer.

For a 30 kVA, 480 V primary, full-load primary current is approximately 36 A; the CEC (Rule 26-256) generally permits primary protection up to 125% of FLA, so a 45 A fuse or breaker is typically used. On the 240 V secondary (FLA ≈ 125 A), secondary protection is sized accordingly. Exact protection sizing should be confirmed by a licensed electrician based on your specific installation and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
