The Rex BA45B-Q/Z3 is a 45 kVA three-phase transformer rated for 208–600 V primary / 347 V secondary, making it well-suited for step-down applications in commercial and industrial facilities — including lighting distribution, HVAC equipment feeds, and general power circuits requiring a 347 V output (common in Canadian commercial buildings for high-voltage fluorescent and LED lighting systems).
- 45 kVA capacity — suitable for moderate industrial and commercial loads; size your connected load to ≤80% of rated kVA for continuous duty per Canadian Electrical Code guidelines.
- Primary voltage flexibility (208–600 V) — accommodates a wide range of available supply voltages across Canadian facilities.
- 347 V secondary — aligns with the standard Canadian 347/600 V distribution system used in commercial panelboards and lighting circuits.

In Canada, 347 V is the standard phase-to-neutral voltage of a 347/600 V wye distribution system. It is widely used for commercial and industrial lighting circuits (fluorescent, LED high-bay, and HID fixtures rated 347 V) as well as certain motor and HVAC loads. The Rex BA45B-Q/Z3's 347 V secondary is specifically designed for these Canadian distribution requirements.
Add up the full-load kVA (or convert kW using your power factor) of all equipment fed by the transformer. Per the Canadian Electrical Code, transformers on continuous loads should not be loaded beyond 80% of their rated capacity — so a 45 kVA unit is ideally suited for continuous loads up to approximately 36 kVA. If your calculated load is higher, you may need a larger unit. Contact our team and we can help you size correctly.
Rex transformers can be difficult to source as the brand has limited current distribution in Canada. Northern Breaker Group specializes in obsolete and hard-to-find electrical equipment — if the BA45B-Q/Z3 is no longer in active production, we can search our inventory and supplier network to locate new-old-stock or a compatible equivalent.
