The BDA160905 belongs to Square D's BDA frame series and is designed as a plug-in breaker for compatible Square D 347/600V panelboards — typically NQ-series or similar distribution panelboards rated for that voltage class. It is not a residential breaker and will not fit QO or Homeline loadcentres. The C-curve (also called a Type C or Class C trip curve) is calibrated to trip at 5–10× the rated current on a magnetic (instantaneous) fault. This makes it well suited for loads with moderate inrush currents, such as lighting circuits, small motors, and general distribution feeders. If your application involves high-inrush equipment (e.g. large motors or transformers), a D-curve breaker may be more appropriate.
