The Siemens BF120 is a bolt-on GFCI breaker designed for use in Siemens/ITE bolt-on style loadcentres and panelboards, including compatible EQ, ES, PL, and PN series panels that accept bolt-on (BL/BA-style) breakers. As a 1-pole, 120V unit, it occupies a single slot and is suited for residential branch circuit protection in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor circuits where GFCI protection is required by the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
Not all Siemens panels accept bolt-on breakers — plug-in (QP/QT) panels require a different series. Send us your panel model number and we'll confirm fitment before you order.
The BF120 uses a bolt-on mounting method, securing directly to the panel bus bar with a screw, while the QAF120 clips in as a plug-in breaker. They are not interchangeable — your panel's bus bar design determines which style you need. Check your panel label or send us the model number and we'll point you to the right breaker.
Yes. The BF120 provides Class A GFCI protection (trips at ≤5mA ground fault current), which meets CEC requirements for GFCI-protected circuits in wet or damp locations such as bathrooms, kitchens, garages, and outdoor receptacles. It protects all outlets on the branch circuit, eliminating the need for individual GFCI receptacles downstream.
Availability of specific GFCI breaker models can change over time. Northern Breaker Group specializes in sourcing obsolete and hard-to-find breakers, so even if the BF120 is no longer in regular production we can often locate new-old-stock or suitable replacements.
