The Siemens BF250 is a bolt-on style 2-pole GFCI breaker from the Siemens BL/BA (bolt-on) series, designed to fit Siemens/ITE EQ, ES, PL, and PN series loadcentres and panelboards that accept bolt-on breakers. It is not interchangeable with plug-in (QP/QT) style panels. With its 50A / 240V / 10kA ratings, it is well suited for dedicated circuits such as hot tubs, pools, and large HVAC equipment in both residential and light commercial applications.
Panel compatibility depends on your specific loadcentre model — send us your panel model and we'll confirm the right fit.
The BF250 is commonly used for 240V, 50A dedicated circuits such as hot tubs, swim spas, and pool equipment — applications where the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and most local authorities require GFCI protection due to the presence of water. The built-in GFCI function eliminates the need for a separate GFCI device downstream, providing Class A ground-fault protection right at the panel.
Siemens bolt-on GFCI breakers can be difficult to locate through standard supply channels. Northern Breaker Group specializes in obsolete and hard-to-find breakers — if the BF250 is out of stock through regular distributors, we can often source new, reconditioned, or equivalent units. Contact our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counter, or request a quote online.
Yes — the BF250 GFCI breaker occupies the same bolt-on 2-pole space as a standard Siemens BL/BA series 2P50A breaker, so it is a direct drop-in upgrade provided your panel accepts bolt-on style breakers. The neutral (white) pigtail wire from the GFCI breaker must be connected to the panel's neutral bar. If you're unsure about your panel's compatibility, send us the model and we'll confirm before you order.
