The Square D BGA34060 is an I-Line plug-in breaker from the BGA frame series, rated 3-pole, 60A, 480Y/277V, 35kA. It is designed to plug into Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards — commonly used in commercial and industrial installations — and is not compatible with QO or Homeline residential loadcentres. The I-Line bus design requires a matching I-Line-compatible enclosure/panelboard.
Send us your panelboard model and we'll confirm fit before you order.
The BGA34060 uses Square D's I-Line plug-in mounting system, so it requires an I-Line-compatible panelboard or switchboard. It is not interchangeable with QO, Homeline, or other residential loadcentre systems. If you're unsure whether your enclosure supports I-Line breakers, send us the panel model and we can confirm compatibility.
The BGA frame I-Line series has been largely superseded by newer Square D I-Line offerings. The BGA34060 may be difficult to source through standard distribution channels, but Northern Breaker Group specializes in obsolete and hard-to-find breakers. Contact us or visit one of our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counters and we'll locate stock for you.
You must replace a breaker with one of the same amperage and pole configuration to maintain proper circuit protection — swapping a 60A breaker in place of a lower-rated one is not a like-for-like replacement and may violate CEC code requirements. The voltage rating (480Y/277V) and interrupting capacity (35kA) must also meet or exceed the panel's requirements. Always consult a licensed electrician before substituting breaker ratings.
