The Square D BJA34020 is an I-Line plug-in molded-case circuit breaker (BJA frame, 3-pole, 20A, 480/277V, 65kA). It is designed to plug into Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards — including the NQ, NF, and I-Line series — which accept the I-Line plug-in connection system. As a 480/277V commercial/industrial-grade MCCB, it is not intended for residential loadcentres (QO or Homeline).
Panel compatibility depends on busbar rating, number of poles, and available spaces in your specific I-Line board. Send us your panelboard model and we'll confirm fit before you order.
The BJA34020 uses Square D's I-Line plug-in mounting system, making it compatible with Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards (such as NQ and NF series) rated for 480/277V operation. It is not designed for residential QO or Homeline loadcentres. Contact us with your panelboard model number and we'll verify compatibility.
Sourcing availability for the BJA34020 can vary depending on Square D's current production status. Northern Breaker Group specializes in obsolete and hard-to-find breakers — if this unit has been discontinued or has long lead times through standard channels, we can often locate new, reconditioned, or surplus stock. Reach out to one of our counters in Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver, or request a quote online.
The 65kA interrupting capacity (AIC) means the BJA34020 can safely clear a short-circuit fault of up to 65,000 amperes without catastrophic failure. This makes it well suited to commercial and industrial distribution systems where available fault current can be high — such as those fed directly from a transformer secondary. Always confirm that the breaker's AIC meets or exceeds the available short-circuit current at your panel's bus.
