The Square D BJA34060 is a I-Line (plug-in) frame molded-case circuit breaker, designed to mount in Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards — not residential loadcentres. Its 3-pole, 480/277V, 65kA rating makes it well-suited for commercial and industrial distribution equipment such as Square D NF, PF, and I-Line panel sections that accept the BJA/BJ frame series.
Not sure if this breaker fits your panelboard? Send us your panel model number and we'll confirm compatibility.
I-Line refers to Square D's proprietary plug-in bus connection system used in their commercial and industrial panelboards and switchboards. The BJA34060 features an I-Line jaw that clips directly onto the vertical bus bars — no lugs or bolts required for the line-side connection. This makes installation and replacement faster, but it means the breaker is only compatible with Square D I-Line rated equipment, not standard residential loadcentres.
The Square D BJA frame series has seen limited availability through standard distribution channels. Northern Breaker Group specializes in hard-to-find and obsolete breakers, and we maintain stock of legacy Square D I-Line breakers across our Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver locations. Contact us with your project needs and we'll advise on current availability or a suitable alternative.
Yes — a breaker rated for a higher voltage (480/277V) is generally acceptable for use on lower-voltage systems such as 208Y/120V or 240V, as long as the amperage, poles, and interrupting rating meet your application's requirements. However, always verify with your local electrical code (CEC in Canada) and confirm the panelboard accepts this frame before installation.
