The BN18E is factory-rated for a 1.2–1.8 A adjustment range. Within that band, the dial can be set to match the full-load amperage (FLA) of the motor being protected — always set it to the motor's FLA as shown on the nameplate for proper trip protection.
At 1.2–1.8 A, this overload relay is typically suited for small fractional or low-horsepower motors — for example, a single-phase 120 V motor in the range of approximately 1/6–1/4 HP, or a small three-phase motor at low horsepower. Always verify against your motor's nameplate FLA before selecting.
