The BN55-A57 is designed to mount directly onto compatible EE Controls contactors within the BN55 series motor starter range. Bimetallic overloads in this frame are matched to specific contactor frames, so it's important to confirm that your contactor is rated for the BN55 series. The BN55-A57 has an adjustable range of 40–57 A. You should set the dial to match the full-load amperage (FLA) listed on your motor's nameplate. In Canada, CEC guidelines recommend setting the overload at no more than 125% of the motor's FLA for continuous-duty motors. If your motor runs in a high-ambient-temperature environment, consider derating the setting slightly for added protection.
