The BN80-A97 EE Controls Bimetallic Overload is designed to provide reliable protection for motors against overheating. The BN80 series overloads are designed to couple directly with compatible EE Controls contactors in the corresponding frame size. Because mounting footprints and clip arrangements vary by manufacturer, we recommend sending us your contactor or starter model number so we can confirm a direct fit — or identify a suitable adapter if needed.
The BN80-A97 has an adjustable dial spanning 75–97 A. As a general rule, set the dial to match the motor's full-load amperage (FLA) as shown on the motor nameplate. For motors with a service factor of 1.15 or higher, Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) permits setting up to 125% of FLA, provided it is within the relay's range. Always verify against the motor nameplate and applicable CEC rules for your installation.
