The Siemens BQD6130 is a bolt-on style breaker from the BQD series, rated 1-pole, 30A at 347V AC with a 14kA interrupting rating. Its 347V voltage rating makes it particularly suited for Canadian commercial and light industrial panelboards where 347/600V systems are common — it is not a standard residential loadcentre breaker. It is designed to bolt into compatible Siemens/ITE panelboards that accept the BQD bolt-on frame.

The BQD6130 is rated for 347V AC, which is specific to Canadian 347/600V commercial and industrial distribution systems. Standard QP or BL breakers are rated for 120/240V residential use. The BQD series also uses a bolt-on connection for a more secure, vibration-resistant fit in panelboards — making it unsuitable as a plug-in replacement in residential loadcentres.
Siemens BQD series breakers can be difficult to source through standard supply channels. Northern Breaker Group specializes in obsolete and hard-to-find breakers, so even if the BQD6130 is no longer in regular distribution, we can often locate new or verified surplus stock. Contact our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counter for availability.
You can replace a higher-kA breaker with the BQD6130's 14kA rating only if your panel's available fault current at that point does not exceed 14kA — confirmed through a proper arc-flash/fault-current study. Installing a breaker with an insufficient interrupting rating is a code violation under the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). If your system fault current exceeds 14kA, a higher-rated BQD variant would be required. Consult a licensed electrician or engineer to verify.
