The BR225 is designed for Eaton BR-series (Type-BR) loadcentres and panelboards. It is a plug-in style breaker and will not fit Eaton CH panels or panels from other manufacturers such as Siemens, Square D, or GE. Yes — Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer, and the BR series has been carried forward under the Eaton brand. An Eaton BR225 is the current equivalent replacement for a Cutler-Hammer BR225 and is a direct drop-in for any Type-BR panel that previously used a Cutler-Hammer BR225.
The 10kA AIC (Ampere Interrupting Capacity) rating means the breaker can safely clear a short-circuit fault of up to 10,000 amps.
