The Eaton BR230 is a plug-in (push-in) style breaker from the Eaton BR series, designed to fit Eaton BR / Type-BR loadcentres and panelboards commonly found in Canadian residential and light commercial installations. It is not interchangeable with Eaton CH series panels or other manufacturer's loadcentres. As a double-pole 30 A breaker, it is a common choice for circuits such as dryers, water heaters, and sub-panels.
Send us your panel model number and we'll confirm it's the right fit before you order.
The BR230 is designed for Eaton BR series (Type-BR) loadcentres and panelboards. It uses a plug-in/push-in connection and will not fit Eaton CH panels or panels from other manufacturers. If you're unsure which series your panel is, send us the model number from the panel door label and we'll confirm compatibility.
Eaton's BR series is the successor to legacy Westinghouse and Challenger BR-style breakers, and the BR230 is generally considered a direct replacement for compatible Westinghouse and Challenger BR-frame plug-in breakers of the same rating. However, panel condition and bus compatibility should always be verified — contact us with your panel details and we can help confirm the correct replacement.
The BR230 carries a 10 kA interrupt rating at 240 V, which meets the fault-current requirements for the vast majority of Canadian residential and light commercial applications under the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). If your installation has a higher available fault current — such as in some commercial or industrial services — a higher interrupt-rated breaker may be required. Our team can help you assess your needs.
