Panel Compatibility

The CHOM250GFI is a plug-in style breaker from Schneider's CHOM series, designed to fit Schneider Electric (Square D) Homeline loadcentres and panelboards that accept CHOM-style plug-in breakers. It is not interchangeable with QO-series or other plug-in formats.

This 2-pole, 50A GFCI breaker is a popular choice for hot tub, spa, and pool sub-feed circuits requiring ground fault protection at the panel. Its 10kA interrupting rating suits standard residential and light commercial Homeline installations.

Not sure if your panel accepts the CHOM series? Send us your panel model number and we'll confirm compatibility before you order.

The CHOM250GFI is most commonly installed for hot tub, spa, and swimming pool circuits, where Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requires ground fault protection on the dedicated 2-pole 50A circuit. It can also be used for any 120/240V branch circuit application where GFCI protection at the panel is required or desired.

The CHOM series is a current Schneider Electric product line, so the CHOM250GFI is generally an active part. However, GFCI breakers in larger amperage ratings can sometimes have limited stock. Northern Breaker Group specialises in sourcing both current and hard-to-find breakers across Canada — contact us or visit one of our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counters for availability.

Yes — like all GFCI breakers, the CHOM250GFI includes a white neutral pigtail wire that must be connected to the panel's neutral bar (in addition to the two hot conductors landing on the breaker terminals). This is required for the ground fault circuitry to function. Always follow the manufacturer's wiring instructions and ensure installation is performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the CEC.
