NEMA 3R enclosures are designed to protect against falling rain, sleet, and the formation of ice on the enclosure. This makes the E3R/5 hood kit suitable for outdoor use in Canadian weather conditions — including exposed rooftop and exterior service-entrance applications — without requiring additional weatherproofing.
The E3R/5 NEMA 3R Hood Kit is a field-retrofit accessory, sold separately from the transformer itself. It is designed to be installed on a compatible 15 KVA Rex E3R/5 transformer in the field.
