The EGB14050 is a bolt-on MCCB designed for Square D commercial and industrial panelboards and switchboards that accept EGB-frame breakers. It is not intended for residential loadcentres such as QO or Homeline panels. If you're unsure whether your panelboard is compatible, contact us with your enclosure model and we'll confirm.
The 277V rating means this breaker is designed to protect single-phase branch circuits on a 480Y/277V wye distribution system — the standard commercial voltage used for fluorescent and LED lighting circuits, as well as some HVAC and commercial loads. It is not rated for use on standard 120/240V residential systems.
The EGB series has been largely superseded by newer Square D MCCB frames.
