The ETNQBGF250 is an Eaton QBGF-series bolt-on GFCI breaker (2-pole, 50 A) designed to install in Eaton CH (Type-CH) panelboards that accept bolt-on style breakers. It is not a plug-on/clip-in type and is not interchangeable with Eaton BR-series loadcentres. This breaker suits both residential and light-commercial CH panels where a 2-pole, 50 A GFCI circuit is required (e.g., hot tubs, EV chargers, or large appliance circuits requiring ground-fault protection).
Not sure if your panel takes bolt-on breakers? Send us your panel model number and we'll confirm compatibility.
The QBGF series uses a bolt-on mounting mechanism, meaning the breaker is secured to the bus bar with a screw rather than snapping onto a plug-on stab. This makes it suited for CH panelboards designed for bolt-on breakers. A standard CH plug-on GFCI breaker (e.g., CHGF series) clips directly onto the bus and is not interchangeable with bolt-on panels. Always verify your panelboard's bus type before ordering.
The CEC (C22.1) requires GFCI protection in specific locations where shock risk is elevated. A 2P 50 A GFCI breaker is commonly used for circuits serving hot tubs, spa equipment, outdoor receptacles, and certain garages or boathouses. It can also be used for EV charging circuits where GFCI protection is specified. Consult your local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) to confirm GFCI requirements for your specific installation.
Eaton's QBGF bolt-on GFCI breakers can be difficult to source through general electrical retailers. Northern Breaker Group specialises in obsolete and hard-to-find breakers and maintains stock of Eaton specialty GFCI units.
