The Square D FA36030 is a FA-frame, I-Line plug-in molded-case circuit breaker (3P, 30A, 600V, 14kA AIC). As an I-Line device, it is designed to plug into Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards — it is not compatible with QO, Homeline, or standard bolt-on loadcentres. Typical I-Line applications include commercial and industrial distribution panels in manufacturing, HVAC, and multi-tenant buildings.

I-Line is a Square D proprietary bus system where the breaker's line-side connection is made via a knife-blade plug-in interface on the bus, rather than a bolt-on lug or a standard clip-in stab. This means the FA36030 can only be installed in Square D I-Line rated panelboards and switchboards — it is not interchangeable with QO, Homeline, or competitor panels. Always verify your panelboard is I-Line rated before ordering.
The Square D FA-frame I-Line series has largely been succeeded by newer MCCB families, and some configurations may be difficult to source new. The FA36030 carries a 600VAC rating, which means it is approved for use at 600V and any voltage below that threshold — including 120/208V, 277/480V, and 347/600V three-phase systems common in Canadian commercial and industrial installations. Using a higher-voltage-rated breaker on a lower-voltage system is perfectly acceptable; it will not affect its overcurrent protection performance.
