Panel & Switchboard Compatibility

The Eaton FDB3015 is a 3-pole, 15 A, 600 V, 14 kA molded-case circuit breaker in Eaton's FDB frame. As an MCCB with a bolt-on mount, it is designed for installation in commercial and industrial panelboards and switchboards that accept FDB-frame breakers — not for residential loadcentres. It is commonly used for feeder and branch-circuit protection in 3-phase distribution systems up to 600 V AC.

Mounting and bus compatibility depends on your specific panelboard or switchboard model. Send us your panelboard model and we'll confirm fit.

The Eaton FDB frame is a compact molded-case breaker frame rated up to 600 V and available in ampere ratings typically from 15 A to 125 A. It is smaller than Eaton's HFD or JD frames, making it well-suited for space-constrained industrial panelboards and switchboards where a lower interrupting rating (14 kA at 600 V for the FDB3015) is acceptable. Always verify frame compatibility with your enclosure before ordering.

In some cases, yes — the FDB3015 may serve as a cross-replacement for similarly rated FDB-frame or comparable MCCB-frame breakers from other brands, provided the mounting footprint, bus stab, and interrupting rating meet your application requirements. Because MCCB cross-compatibility is enclosure-specific, we recommend contacting us with the OEM part number and panel details so we can verify a suitable replacement.

The FDB3015 can be used for motor branch-circuit protection when properly sized in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Section 28. At 15 A on a 600 V, 3-phase circuit, it is typically suited for small 3-phase motors. Confirm that the breaker's 14 kA interrupting rating meets or exceeds the available fault current at the point of installation — if your system fault current is higher, a higher-rated frame may be required.
