The FH16015C is an I-Line plug-in breaker, designed to fit Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards (such as NQ, NF, and PQ series commercial panelboards). It is not compatible with Square D QO or Homeline residential loadcentres. If you're unsure whether your board accepts I-Line breakers, contact us with your panelboard model number and we'll confirm compatibility.
The 277V rating corresponds to the phase-to-neutral voltage of a 480Y/277V three-phase, four-wire commercial power system — the standard distribution voltage in many Canadian commercial and industrial buildings. At 277V, this breaker is commonly used to protect single-phase lighting branch circuits fed from a 480V panel. It is not suitable for use on standard 120/240V residential systems.
The Square D FH-frame I-Line breaker series has largely been superseded by newer I-Line offerings, making individual breakers like the FH16015C increasingly hard to find.
