The FI36090 uses Square D's I-Line plug-in mounting system, which means it is designed exclusively for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards used in commercial and industrial applications. The 100kA interrupting (AIC) rating means the FI36090 can safely clear fault currents up to 100,000 amperes at 600V without catastrophic failure. This high AIC rating makes it appropriate for commercial and industrial installations where available fault current at the distribution point can be substantial — such as close to a utility transformer or main switchboard. Always verify that the breaker's AIC rating meets or exceeds the available fault current at the installation point, as required by the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
