The 25kA interrupting capacity (IC) means this breaker can safely clear a fault current of up to 25,000 amperes at 240V. For most commercial and light-industrial distribution panels, 25kA is a common and acceptable rating. However, you should verify the available fault current (AFC) at the point of installation — if your system's AFC exceeds 25kA, a higher-rated breaker will be required to meet CSA/electrical code requirements.
