The Square D HDA36080 is an I-Line plug-in molded-case circuit breaker (HDA frame), rated 80A, 3-Pole, 600V, 14kA. As an I-Line device, it is designed to mount in Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards — commercial and industrial enclosures that accept the I-Line bus stab interface — and is not suitable for residential QO or Homeline loadcentres. It is ideal for branch-circuit and feeder protection in commercial and industrial applications up to 600V AC.
Not sure if your panelboard accepts I-Line plug-in breakers? Send us your panel model and we'll confirm compatibility.
The HDA36080 uses Square D's I-Line plug-in mounting interface, so it is compatible with Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards designed for that bus system. It is a commercial/industrial MCCB and is not interchangeable with residential QO or Homeline loadcentres. Send us your panelboard model number and we'll confirm the fit.
The HDA36080 carries a 14kA interrupting rating at 600V. For most commercial and light-industrial distribution applications this is adequate, but you should verify that 14kA meets or exceeds the available fault current at the point of installation as required by the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). If your system has higher available fault current, a higher-rated frame in the Square D I-Line family may be required — contact us and we can help you select the right option.
Square D HDA-frame I-Line breakers can be difficult to source through standard supply channels, particularly in specific amp ratings. Northern Breaker Group specialises in obsolete and hard-to-find breakers and maintains stock of I-Line series devices.
