It acts as a compression pigtail adaptor — one end is crimped onto a 750 MCM conductor, and the opposite end presents an approximate 500 MCM pin that inserts into equipment lugs, bus connections, or termination points designed for that smaller pin size. This allows large-gauge cable to connect cleanly to equipment with a smaller-bore lug without modification.
