    The Ilsco DBK-250 Direct Burial Splice Kit is dual-rated and accepts conductors ranging from #1 AWG to 250 MCM, covering a wide range of residential and commercial feeder and service applications. Each kit includes one SPA-250 compression splice and two pieces of heat shrink tubing for a weatherproof, moisture-resistant seal suitable for direct earth burial.     Yes. The DBK-250 carries both UL and CSA listings, making it acceptable for direct burial applications under the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). The included heat shrink tubing provides the moisture and environmental protection required for underground installations.

    The DBK-250 is dual-rated for conductors from #1 AWG up to 250 MCM. It is suitable for both copper and aluminum conductors — confirm your conductor material and size before ordering, as dual-rated connectors must be installed per the manufacturer's torque and installation specs for each conductor type.

    Each kit includes one SPA-250 compression splice connector and two pieces of heat shrink tubing. Installation of the SPA-250 compression splice requires a compatible hydraulic or mechanical compression tool sized for the connector. A heat source (such as a heat gun) is needed to properly shrink and seal the tubing. Contact our team if you need guidance on compatible tooling.
