The Square D JLA36150 is a 150A, 3-pole, 600V, 50kA molded-case circuit breaker in Square D's JLA frame with an I-Line plug-in mounting configuration. I-Line breakers are designed to install in Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards — they are not compatible with QO or Homeline residential loadcentres. The 50kA interrupting rating makes it well suited to commercial and industrial distribution panels where high available fault current is present.
Not sure if this breaker fits your Square D panelboard? Send us your panelboard model number and we'll confirm compatibility.
No. I-Line and QO are completely different mounting systems. The JLA36150 uses Square D's I-Line plug-in bus system, designed for commercial and industrial panelboards and switchboards. QO breakers use a different plug-on clip mechanism for residential and light-commercial QO loadcentres. The two are not interchangeable — always match the breaker's mounting type to your panelboard's bus system.
Availability of specific Square D JLA-frame breakers can vary. Northern Breaker Group specializes in sourcing obsolete, discontinued, and hard-to-find circuit breakers across Canada. Whether the JLA36150 is a current or legacy part, we can check new, surplus, and reconditioned stock. Contact our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counter for availability and lead time.
Before installation, confirm: (1) your panelboard is rated for I-Line plug-in breakers; (2) the bus is rated for at least 150A per phase and 600V; (3) the panelboard's available fault current does not exceed the breaker's 50kA interrupting rating; and (4) the JLA frame size is compatible with the slot in your panelboard. If you're unsure of any of these details, share your panelboard model with us and we'll help you confirm the fit.
