The Square D LI36400 is an I-Line frame plug-in molded-case circuit breaker, designed to mount in Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards (such as the NF, NQ, and PQ series) that accept I-Line plug-in breakers. Its 3-pole, 400 A, 600 V, 100 kA ratings make it suited to heavy industrial distribution applications — not residential loadcentres. It is not interchangeable with QO or Homeline plug-on breakers.
Panel compatibility depends on your specific switchboard or panelboard bus rating and configuration. Send us your panel model number and we'll confirm fitment before you order.
The LI36400 uses Square D's I-Line plug-in mounting system, making it compatible with Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards designed to accept I-Line breakers — such as NF, NQ, and PQ series enclosures with an appropriately rated bus. It is an industrial-grade breaker and is not suitable for residential QO or Homeline loadcentres. Contact us with your panel model and we can confirm compatibility.
Square D has transitioned many LI-frame products to newer MCCB lines over the years. Northern Breaker Group specializes in hard-to-find and obsolete breakers, so even if the LI36400 is discontinued or has long lead times through standard channels, we maintain inventory and sourcing networks across Canada to help you find it. Request a quote and we'll check current availability for you.
The 100 kA short-circuit current rating (SCCR) means the LI36400 can safely interrupt fault currents up to 100,000 amperes at 600 V — a high interrupting capacity suited to industrial facilities with large upstream transformers or generators where available fault current is substantial. Your electrical engineer or inspector will verify that this rating meets or exceeds the available fault current at the point of installation, as required by the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
