The Square D LI36600 is a 600A, 3-pole, 600V, 100kA molded-case circuit breaker in Square D's LI frame, designed with an I-Line plug-in mounting configuration. It is compatible with Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards that accept LI-frame plug-in breakers — typically found in heavy industrial and commercial distribution systems, not residential loadcentres.
Send us your panelboard model and we'll confirm fit and compatibility for your specific installation.
No — the LI36600 uses Square D's I-Line plug-in bus connection system, which is specific to I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It cannot be swapped into a standard bolt-on or QO-style loadcentre. The I-Line design allows the breaker to be installed and removed without tools on the bus, but the host panelboard must be an I-Line-rated enclosure. Always verify your board's bus system before ordering.
Square D's LI-frame I-Line breakers can be difficult to source new as product lines evolve. Northern Breaker Group specializes in obsolete and hard-to-find breakers — we maintain stock of discontinued and legacy Square D I-Line units and can source surplus or reconditioned breakers when new stock is unavailable. Contact our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counter for current availability.
The 100kA interrupting rating means the LI36600 can safely clear fault currents up to 100,000 amperes without catastrophic failure. The Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requires that the breaker's interrupting rating meet or exceed the available fault current (AFC) at the point of installation. For high-capacity industrial and commercial services — especially those close to utility transformers — a 100kA-rated breaker like the LI36600 is often necessary to meet code. Your electrical engineer or inspector can confirm the required AFC for your specific site.
