The Federal Pioneer NA220 is a 2-pole, 20A, 120/240V plug-in (push-in) breaker from the NA series, designed to fit Federal Pioneer Stab-Lok loadcentres and panelboards that accept NA-series plug-in breakers. It is commonly used in residential and light commercial panels of this legacy lineup.
Federal Pioneer / Stab-Lok panels have not been manufactured for decades, making exact-fit breakers increasingly hard to source — this is a specialty item. Not all Stab-Lok panels accept the same breaker series, so fitment should always be verified before ordering. Send us your panel model and we'll confirm compatibility.
Federal Pioneer Stab-Lok breakers like the NA220 are no longer in active production, making them a hard-to-find, obsolete item. Northern Breaker Group specializes in exactly this type of legacy breaker — contact us or visit one of our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counters and we'll do our best to locate stock for you.
Federal Pioneer Stab-Lok panels have a proprietary bus-bar design, and Canadian Electrical Code requirements generally call for a breaker that is listed and approved for the specific panel. Substituting a breaker from another brand is not recommended without written approval from the panel manufacturer or a licensed electrical engineer. We strongly advise consulting a licensed electrician before considering any cross-brand replacement.
The 10kA interrupting capacity (AIC) means the NA220 is rated to safely interrupt a fault current of up to 10,000 amperes. For most residential and light commercial services in Canada, available fault current at the panel is well within this rating — but it's always good practice to have a licensed electrician verify the available fault current at your specific installation to ensure the breaker's rating is adequate.
