The NCO250 is a Federal Pioneer NCO-series plug-in breaker, designed to fit Federal Pioneer Stab-Lok loadcentres and panelboards that accept the NCO plug-in style. It operates at 120/240V, 2-Pole, 50A with a 10kA interrupting rating, making it suitable for both residential and light commercial Stab-Lok panels. As Federal Pioneer panels are a legacy product line, availability can vary — send us your panel model number and we'll confirm fitment before you order.
Federal Pioneer breakers are a legacy/obsolete product line and are no longer in active production. However, Northern Breaker Group specializes in hard-to-find and obsolete breakers — we maintain stock of Federal Pioneer NCO-series breakers. Contact us or request a quote and we'll let you know what's available.
Federal Pioneer Stab-Lok panels are designed for use with Federal Pioneer-approved breakers only. Substituting a breaker from another manufacturer is generally not recommended and may not comply with CSA/ESA requirements or your local electrical code. We strongly advise using the correct Federal Pioneer NCO-series replacement. If you have concerns about your panel, consult a licensed electrician.
The 10kA interrupting rating (AIC — Ampere Interrupting Capacity) means the NCO250 can safely clear a fault current of up to 10,000 amperes without failure. For most Canadian residential and light commercial installations, this rating is sufficient, but you should verify that the available fault current at your panel does not exceed 10kA. If your service has a higher fault level, a breaker with a higher AIC rating would be required.
