The Gould OTN60 is a 60A, 250V, Class K5 one-time (non-renewable) fuse with a 50kA interrupting rating. It fits standard Class K5 fuse holders and fuse blocks rated for 250V and 60A or higher — commonly found in disconnect switches, motor circuits, and industrial panelboards. As a one-time fuse, it must be replaced (not rewired) after a fault; the Gould/Ferraz Shawmut TRS60R (renewable) or equivalent Class RK5 fuses are sometimes used as upgrades in the same holders where the holder accepts Class K or RK elements.

Not sure if your existing holder or disconnect accepts this fuse? Send us your equipment model and we'll confirm compatibility.

A Class K5 one-time fuse like the OTN60 is a sealed, single-use device — once it clears a fault, the entire fuse must be replaced. A renewable fuse uses a replaceable fuse link inside a reusable body. The OTN60 can replace another Class K5 one-time fuse of the same 60A/250V rating in the same holder. If your existing holder also accepts Class RK5 fuses, you may have the option to upgrade to a current-limiting RK5 type, which offers improved protection characteristics.

The Gould OTN series has been absorbed through brand transitions (Gould → Ferraz Shawmut → Mersen). While exact production status can vary, Northern Breaker Group specialises in obsolete and hard-to-find fuses and can source OTN60 stock or identify a current equivalent replacement. Contact us with your application details and we'll find the best available option.

Class K5 fuses like the OTN60 are general-purpose fuses and are not considered 'dual-element' time-delay fuses. For motor branch-circuit protection per the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), a time-delay (dual-element) fuse is typically preferred to ride through motor inrush current without nuisance blowing. The OTN60 may be suitable for some motor applications depending on the motor FLA and code-permitted sizing, but we recommend verifying your specific motor load and CEC requirements before selecting this fuse.
