The QBGFEP2020 combines a 2-pole 240V circuit (required by most hot tubs) with a built-in 30mA Class A GFCI function. Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) Section 68 requires GFCI protection on circuits supplying hydromassage bathtubs and hot tubs, making this breaker a code-compliant, all-in-one solution — no separate GFCI device needed at the panel.
The 30mA trip threshold is the standard sensitivity for personnel protection GFCI devices in Canada under the CEC, and it matches the Class A GFCI rating recognised by CSA standards. It is sensitive enough to protect against lethal ground-fault currents while avoiding nuisance tripping from minor leakage on longer 240V circuits such as those serving hot tubs or outbuildings.
