The QF215 includes built-in Class A GFCI protection at 5mA sensitivity, which the standard Q215 does not. The QF215 will trip on both overcurrent (like a regular breaker) and on ground faults as small as 5mA, making it required by the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) for locations such as bathrooms, kitchens, garages, and outdoor circuits.
The QF215's GFCI function is rated for 120V single-phase applications. In a 2-pole configuration, one pole carries the live conductor and the other acts as a neutral disconnect, which is common in GFCI breakers to ensure both the hot and neutral are interrupted on a fault. It is not intended for 240V two-wire loads.
