TR15R – GOULD 15A 250V CLASS RK5 TIME DELAY FUSE

Both Class RK1 and RK5 fuses use the same rejection-style ferrule and fit Class R holders, but they are not directly interchangeable by specification. Class RK1 fuses offer tighter current-limiting performance, while Class RK5 (like the TR15R) provides a somewhat broader let-through range. If your holder or disconnect is rated specifically for RK1, upgrading to an RK1 fuse is acceptable; however, you should never install a lower-performing RK5 in a system engineered for RK1 protection without consulting your engineer or the equipment manufacturer. Motors and transformers draw a significant inrush current at start-up — often 6 to 10 times their running current — that lasts only a few seconds. A fast-acting fuse would nuisance-trip on this harmless surge. The TR15R's time-delay characteristic allows it to ride through brief inrush events while still providing fast, reliable protection against sustained overloads and short circuits. Its 200kA interrupting rating also ensures it can safely clear even high-fault-current industrial circuits up to 250V.
