TR50R – GOULD 50A 250V CLASS RK5 TIME DELAY FUSE

Class RK5 and Class RK1 fuses share the same physical dimensions, so a Class RK5 fuse like the TR50R will physically fit in a Class RK1 holder. However, Class RK1 fuses offer tighter current-limiting performance than RK5. If your system was designed around RK1 fuses, substituting an RK5 may not provide the same level of current limitation — always verify with your engineer or authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) before substituting.

Motors draw a high inrush current at startup — typically 6–8× their full-load amperage for several seconds. A time delay fuse like the TR50R is designed to ride through this temporary overload without nuisance blowing, while still providing fast, reliable protection against short circuits and sustained overloads. This makes it ideal for motor branch circuit and feeder protection in industrial and commercial applications.
