The Gould TR50R is a 50A, 250V, Class RK5 Time Delay fuse with a 200kA interrupting rating, built to the standard RK5 physical dimensions. It fits any Class RK5 or Class RK1/RK5-compatible fuse holder or fusible disconnect rated for 250V and 50A or higher — commonly used in industrial motor branch circuits, feeder protection, and commercial distribution panels. As a Gould TR-series fuse, it is also a direct form-fit-function replacement for other 50A 250V Class RK5 time delay fuses from compatible product lines.
Not sure if your existing holder or disconnect accepts a Class RK5 fuse? Send us your holder or switch model and we'll confirm compatibility.
Class RK5 and Class RK1 fuses share the same physical dimensions, so a Class RK5 fuse like the TR50R will physically fit in a Class RK1 holder. However, Class RK1 fuses offer tighter current-limiting performance than RK5. If your system was designed around RK1 fuses, substituting an RK5 may not provide the same level of current limitation — always verify with your engineer or authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) before substituting.
Motors draw a high inrush current at startup — typically 6–8× their full-load amperage for several seconds. A time delay fuse like the TR50R is designed to ride through this temporary overload without nuisance blowing, while still providing fast, reliable protection against short circuits and sustained overloads. This makes it ideal for motor branch circuit and feeder protection in industrial and commercial applications.
Gould's fuse product lines have transitioned through several ownership changes over the years. Northern Breaker Group specializes in obsolete and hard-to-find electrical components, and we maintain stock of legacy Gould fuses including the TR series. Contact us or visit one of our Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver counters for availability — we can also identify a current cross-reference if a direct replacement is required.
